It will be a battle of giants as defending champions Rangpur Riders gears up take on star studded Dhaka Dynamites in the Bangladesh Premier League that is scheduled to resume after a day-break at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Sunday.

Riders will be eyeing to keep their winning momentum intact while Dynamites will be looking forward to get back into business after being defeated in their last match.

Riders will be eyeing to make sure their top four comprised with Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, Rille Rossouw, AB de Villiers will do the job for them as that had been the case during their last three successive wins.

‘’We won three matches in a row. We all are pretty good space. Our overseas players are scoring runs, who struggled early on. Now we are on a pretty good space,’’ Riders batsman Mohammad Mithun told reporters ahead of their battle between the arch-rivals.

“We don't have many lower order batsman. Other team has Thisara, Afridi...We have those guys down the order who can come and score 50 off 20 balls. We are dependable on our top order. We want out to order to score every match,’ he said.

‘’Not every team goes with the same plan. In T20 games, If top guys score runs, there is not much to do for the lower orders. Our team is formed that way. If top order fails then lower order will need to perform. If our top order score runs, don't think there it much work to do down the order,’’ he said.

Mithun, who was largely responsible for helping the franchise win their maiden BPL tournament, added that he is aware that his responsibility changed with time and looking forward to adapt in the new role down the order instead of batting on his usual number three position like he did on the previous edition.

“It’s about the team. Last time team needed me to play up the order,’’ said Mithun.

‘’Now playing down the order because of the team. Our four top order batsmen are overseas boys. They can't be batting lower down the order. So it's because of the team I’m batting where I’m right now,’’ he said.

“It’s not about the pressure. How many over I get to face, that's important. Because you won't do more if you don't play more balls,’’ he said.

‘’At the end of the day, everyone see who scored 50s, 70s. Now I’m batting when 4-5 overs left. That time strike rate is important. From that position I’m not going to score 50 runs. If I score some runs with the strike rate of 200, then it will help the team,’’ he added.

Mithun added he does not believe it is a final before final for the two teams as they are expected to be leading contenders to reach the title deciding match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on February8.

“No it's not like that [ final before final]. This tournament is completely different.

‘’It’s not always the big team who's doing well. CTG Vikings didn't got many big names, but they are the number one team right now,’’

‘’Good result comes with good performances. We have big players but if we don’t perform well, those big names has to value,’’ he said

‘’Big names have to do justice with their performances,’’ he said.
