Title aspirant Comilla Victorians are confident of overcoming Rajshahi Kings threat as the two teams take on each other in the Bangladesh Premier League at Dhaka on Monday.
BPL after completing its Sylhet phase on Saturday resumes at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium after a day gap to enthrall the crowd as the tournament gets the tempo through some nail biting finish at Sylhet.
Comilla Victorian will be looking forward to Tamim Iqbal as he returned to form with a scintillating half century in their last match that helped them earn a three wicket win over Khulna Titans in their last game.
‘Overall, our team is very good. I thank to my team management to form such a well-balanced team. We lost two matches and then won four matches in a row. Our confidence got a boost after winning the last match,’’ Victorians all-rounder Ziaur Rahman told reporters ahead of their game against Kings at the BCB academy premises on Sunday.
‘’The lacking we had in some areas at the initial stage we already overcame it. Inshaallah, we will do better further in the next times,’’ he said adding that injured opener Evin Lewis is fit to play who was rested after the opening two games.
Ziaur added that they are ready to take the challenge of Kings bowling attack despite there is a lot of indication that is getting strength to strength, largely due to the form of Mustafizur Rahman.
‘’Mustafiz is very good bowler, no doubt. But the most important thing is that all of the batsmen we have in the team are in good form. All are in good touch. Hopefully they will handle him well.

‘I think, we will be ahead of them because our batsmen are in good form. Along with that, our team combination is very good. That’s why, I keep us ahead,’’ he said.
Kings opener Marshall Ayub said that they are having a very high morale against Victorians considering they had brought down high flying Dynamites back on earth as they are the only side to beat the star studded squad in the tournament so far.
‘’When you beat a top team in the tournament, the confidence reaches to a new level and we also have the same feeling,’’ said Marshall.
‘’Next match is against another big team Comilla and we will see what happens in the field,’’ he said.
‘’Our main target will be taking revenge against Comilla as we lost a game against them,’’ he added.
Marshall added that they had prepared them better than other teams as they returned to Dhaka earlier considering others had to stay back for their respective fixtures while the presence of Mustafiz will be key in this wicket.
‘’We had the opportunity for practicing in Dhaka as Mirpur wicket provides help for bowlers in day matches. This is a plus point for us as we can prepare ourselves better in here in last two days,’’ said Marshall.
‘‘There is a difference between Sylhet and the wicket in here. I think Mustafiz is our best strength. If you see our matches, he won a match for us,’’ he said.
Mustafiz is hogging all the spotlight considering he is giving indication of returning to form while the wicket in Dhaka is expected to help him exploit the condition.
In the other match of the day Dhaka Dynamites will take on Chittagong Vikings and the table toppers are looking forward to carry the winning momentum after blowing out Sylhet Sixers after being embrassed by the Kings in previous game.
‘’Naturally our last win will help us gain back confidence,’’ said Nurul Hasan Sohan.
‘’All the teams in the tournament are very competitive. In Twenty20s, a team who plays well in a particular day wins the game. We want to continue the same momentum that we have been carrying from the start of the tournament. And hopefully if we perform well then there will be good result for us,’’ he said
‘Vikings is really a good team. They are batting well and a good fielding side as well. Those who can meet the demands of the situations tomorrow [today] will do well in the game,’’ he added regarding Vikings as they considered to be the dark horse of the competition.
