Dhaka Dynamites received a severe injury blow as young off spinning prodigy Aliss Islam is all set to miss the rest of the matches of Bangladesh Premier Leaue (BPL) due to a knee injury that he received against Sylhet.

Rookie off-spinner Aliss was abruptly thrust into the limelight after he became the first spinner and third bowler in the history of the BPL to claim a hat-trick on January 11.

Aliss, who is uncapped in the first-class circuit, was the talk of the town when he was included in the playing XI for the Dhaka Dynamites against their arch-rivals, Rangpur Riders.

He lived up to the hype, hogging all the beginners' luck whilst claiming a hat-trick on BPL debut and playing a major role in the Dynamites' two-run win over defending champions Rangpur Riders in a nerve-racking battle in Mirpur on Friday.

Though later it was reported in the media that his bowling action came under scrutiny as all his deliveries were said to be suspected by umpires in their match report as ‘’ illegal’’.

Though it did not prevent him from taking part in BPL for the next 14 days as per rules of the BPL governing council before he made himself available in front of the bowling review committee to a test but it looked it will not go as per plan after the knee injury that he sustained during their game against Sylhet Sixers at their own den on Friday.

“He had sustained an injury though we could not say exactly the extent of it unless the MRI is completed, it seems it is very serious,’’ said Dynamites manager Azam Iqbal.

“He also had a test in front of the bowling review committee on January 26 so we need to take a decision regarding him,’’ he added.

A high profile source confirmed his BPL still stint is all but over with Dynamites as chances of his returning back is extremely slim.
