Comilla Victorians Liam Dawson said on Wednesday that they are not concerned with the recent form of opener Tamim Iqbal as they believe it is just a matter of time before the left-handed opener will start blazing in the going Bangladesh Premier League.

The Englishman revealed the observation despite the fact Tamim is yet to make an impact in the ongoing BPL where he managed to score 35, 4, 21, 0, and 0 in the tournament so far.

“I don’t think he is concerned at all. He is a world class player. His record speaks for himself. Players have little dips in form for a couple of games. Form is temporary. He will definitely come good for us,’’ Dawson told reporters after the optional practice session at the Sylhet District Stadium on Wednesday.

Tamim also echoed the same sentiment despite admitting he is not in his best shape after making two successive ducks for the first time in his entire career as he feels one good innings will change everything for him.

‘’I am quite sure that one innings will change the entire scenario,’’ said Tamim.

‘’It is true that my form is not good but I don’t get extremely disturbed if I am not scoring runs,’’ he said.

‘’It is a fact that I am not feeling well but you have to accept the fact that you everything will not go your way all the time like I will be scoring runs all time like the way I did in the recent past,’’ he said.

‘’There will be times when I will not be scoring runs but I am not too bothered about it because I know how to make a comeback from rough phase in his career,’’ he added.

Victorians began their Sylhet phase in perfect manner as they had earned a convincing win in their opening game against the home team that helped them reach the second spot in the points table.

However, Dawson said that they are not thinking too far ahead and instead looking just one game at a time as that is expected to make their journey easy as it will prevent them from taking any extra load.

‘’We have got a well balanced team. We have only played five games in the competition. We are second in the minute but we have to take one game at a time. Let us see where we end up,’’ said Dawson.

“T20 cricket is a funny game. It can change quickly. We have to do the basics well and hopefully keep winning,’’ he said adding that he was quite surprised as he was expecting a high scoring encounter in their opening game only to turnout the other way round.

‘’I haven’t played in Sylhet before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. All the local players have said that it is a pretty good wicket here. Last night was a little bit different. We have a few games left so hopefully it might get better,’’ he concluded.
