Player’s-by choice for DPL- CCDM

The upcoming Dhaka Premier League will be played in players by choice system, said Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis official on Sunday.
The decision was taken after consulting with the participating clubs in a meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium where CCDM decided to host DPL, country’s prestigious club tournament from February 20.
“This year we’re going to players’ by choice system after the consent of the participating clubs’ teams. It’s always tough to get the national team’s players for their international commitments. To think the participation of the players, we’re going to players’ by choice system,” said CCDM in-charge Tawhid Mahmood.
‘’We’ve decided to start Dhaka Premier League (DPL) just after the end of the BPL,” he said adding that they are expecting to run the show from February 20.
“Our New Zealand series will go on upto March 22 from February 15. The series will open with ODI series. So, those, who will not play Test series back home to play group phase matches. But all the players could play from Super League,” he maintained.
Tawhid said that they are yet to decide whether they can at least one-two important matches of the Super League phase.
“We’ll float our tender within the next one-two days for the title and co-title sponsor of the DPL. We’re trying along with the board so that we could manage to telecast at least one or two important matches of the DPL Super League this year,” said the CCDM in-charge.
It is informed from the CCDM to the participating clubs that each team could retain maximum three players. After the players’ draft, clubs could be released three players on the basis of the mutual understanding.
Any foreign play will be considered free player. Any team could purchase them. But each team could field only one player.
