Dhaka Dynamites off-spinner Aliss Islam who claimed a hat-trick on Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) debut was reported by the umpires for his illegal bowling action, an official confirmed on Saturday.

‘’He has been reported by the umpires,’’ BPL technical committee chairman Jalal Yunus told the reporters.

‘’We are waiting for the report of the match referee who will give a guideline for him before deciding his immediate future,’’ he added.

Immediately after officials confirmed about his illegal bowling action, Dhaka Dynamites drafted him in the first XI in their match against Sylhet Sixers.

It is understood despite being reported Aliss will not be barred from playing for 21 days though the norm can be changed any time as there are several instances of such things in BPL.

Defending champions Rangpur Riders raised question over unheralded off-spinner Aliss Islam bowling action as they believe his arm bend more than 15 degree when he is bowling the doosra.

Aliss was unleashed as part of surprise package from the mighty Dhaka Dynamites in the clash of giants. And he truly lived up to the billings of ‘surprise package’ by becoming the third bowler and first spinner in BPL history to earn a hat-trick when he wrecked havoc Riders batting order to help Dhaka Dynamites earn a thrilling two-run victory at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Immediate after the game Rangpur Riders in an email stated that Aliss name was in the suspected bowling action list of First Division cricketers and though they were informed he was cleared, they still do have doubts over his legitimacy.

‘’First of all, we would like to acknowledge Dhaka Dynamites performance against Rangpur Riders in the first match of 11th January 2019. It was a great game of cricket and Dhaka Dynamites played very well to come out as the winner. Regardless we would like to draw your attention towards Dhaka Dynamites Off-Spin Bowler Al Islam on the following points,’’ Rangpur Riders was quoted in the email sent after the match.

‘’We were informed four days earlier that out of draft player can be included in Teams and Al Islam Aliss was included in Dhaka Dynamites squad in that regard. Although we did not have any official problem regarding hi inclusion but it is to be mentioned that his name is in the suspected bowling action list from the first division of Dhaka League. We have been told that his action was reviewed but looking at his bowling action in today’s match it seems that his action has not yet been rectified and it seem his arm bends more than the tolerance limit of 15 degree while he is bowling, especially when he is bowling his “Dusra” deliveries,’’ it added.

Meanwhile Aliss claimed that he is confident that he does not have any flaws in his bowling action after the match while countering the legitimacy of his action.

''No, it (bowling action) didn't come under controversy ever. However, everybody was pondering. Actually it wasn't questionable at all,'' Aliss said in the presser.
