Comilla Victorians will be looking forward to see their local cricketers shine as they believe unless that is the case they will find it hard to earn success in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.
Victorians received a confidence blowing nine-wicket defeat at the hand of defending champion Dhaka Dynamites in their second match after earning a win their opening game against Sylhet Sixers.
Despite having some of the biggest stars in the world in the likes of Evin Lewis and Steven Smith Victorians were bundled out for meager 63 runs against Riders.
Their batting debacle is expected to leave a negative impact on the over morale of the team considering it to be the lowest total on the tournament so far, though Victorians head coach Mohammad Salahuddin refuse to accept it in outright manner.
‘’I don’t think our confidence is shattered. I feel we could not assess the wicket and we lost the match there but our batting is experienced and we will surely make a positive comeback,’’ he said.

‘‘Your confidence cannot be determined with two matches because any team can start winning and get the momentum,’’ he said.
Salahuddin said that they are aware Rajshahi Kings have a strong bowling unit comprised with Mustafizur Rahman, Mehedi Hasan, Isurru Udana and Arafat Sunny while added that they came up with the perfect batting display while chasing down the total posted by their rivals during their game on Wednesday.
‘’I think they have a good bowling unit because it is not easy to restrict a team of Titans stature under 120 runs and the way they batted was appropriate in chasing down such total on the board,’’ said Salahuddin.
According to Salahuddin rather than blaming the foreigners he is more concerned about the performance of their local stars such as Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes and Anamul Haque at the top as they are more adaptable to the condition then their foreign counter part.
‘’I think the local cricketers need to perform because they are more accustomed with the condition rather than the foreign,’’ said Salahuddin.
‘’I think due to winter there is movement in the wicket that they need to adjust as there are breeze at some point while the other thing is that the ball does not come to the bat so they need to make that required adjustment and play,’’ he said.
While Victorians will be hoping to comeback in the winning ways their counterpart Kings will be eyeing to make sure that they don’t get derailed after earning a morale boosting win following their defeat in the opener.
‘’I think the win was very important and we wanted to make sure we don’t mess it up. It might look we were bit cautious and did not try to play in the T20 temperament but that more out of necessity than any other thing ,’’ said Kings assistant coach Mizanur Rahman.
‘’It is true we had to change our plan after Mominul was out because if that was not the case we would have chased down the total in a different manner,’’ he added.
