Bangladesh opener Imrul Kayes said that he is used of making a comeback in the Tigers dressing room and now looks forward to make his stay longer through performing.

In his 10 year career Imrul came back at least on eight or nine occasions and often been touted as the unlucky for not getting his dues.

Imrul and Tamim had developed good opening partnership and it looked that their respective approach seemed to have served the purpose of the team with Imrul trying to hold the innings while Tamim being the man dictating terms from the start.

However, it did not remained that way since the arrival of Chandika Hathurusingha, as the Sri Lankan head coach opted to settle down his plan with Tamim trying to accumulate while his partners taking the initiatives.

The change in plans certainly had an impact on Imrul as he had to change his batting style to be regular at the top while there were others who looked more suited for the role in the likes of Soumya Sarkar with his natural stroke playing ability.

His batting order changed with times during his 10-year career while despite having a decent average he never managed to hog the spotlight due to his batting style and approach.

‘All the players have ups and downs in their career. None can keep the same consistency. My situation is somewhat different,’’ said Imrul.

‘’Someone may have played well in my place which made me axe from the side. But I am not thinking about these now and just keep working hard to get the chance to play for the country,’’ he added.

Since November 2015 till date he played 18 ODI averaging 47.25 while among his teammates only Tamim Iqbal is above him with an average of 61.64.

Despite this effort Imrul is still not an automatic choice in the shortest format and the blame largely also fall upon his shoulder as he could not manage to make his presence felt.
