Bangladesh lose control as India take charge

The Indian team had a bright start to the Super 4 match against Bangladesh as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah struck early to dismantle Bangladesh’s top order. Liton Das mistimed a short delivery from Kumar as Kedar Jadhav claimed a good catch deep in the field.
Kumar was spot on from the first delivery, as he found his length quite early and used the new ball to perfection. He kept on varying the the lengths to extract the main benefits from a largely dry pitch. Afterwards, Nazmul Hossain was caught by Shikhar Dhawan from a delivery by Jasprit Bumrah.

The pacer’s delivery sort of gained pace after pitching and it was eventually a very awkward catch for Dhawan. Though Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib al Hasan showed some initial solidarity, Hasan departed in the 10th over as Ravindra Jadeja was the wicket-taker this time.
Jadeja, who is making his return in the ODI circuit overstepped the line and hence was hit for a boundary by Hasan. In the next delivery, the southpaw swept Jadeja yet again and churned out another boundary. However, Hasan’s attempt to notch four more runs failed as he was caught by Dhawan at square leg.
Eventually, Bangladesh lost three crucial wickets in the opening ten overs, whilst scoring merely 44 runs.
