Shahid failed to pass NCL fitness test

National discard Mohammad Shohid will miss the National Cricket League, country’s traditional first-class tournament, as he failed to pass the fitness test, said Bangladesh Cricket Board official.
BCB took the initiative of introducing fitness test before the NCL as part of their plan to restructure the tournament that is often been labeled as a picnic party among different stake holders involved with the game.
BCB had strictly directed all the respective teams of the tournament to go through a fitness test program that took place from September 8 to 16 and to be eligible for consideration players had to score at least 9 out of 12 in the beep test.

"He managed just 7.6 so we are not considering him for the tournament,’’ said a BCB official.
But he can make a comeback if he successfully pass the second fitness test that we will conduct in the coming days,’’ he said.
Shahid and the others who failed this time around, has to give a second fitness test before the tournament started.
His last international appearance was against Zimbabwe in 2016 when he was picked for a T20I match.
In the BPL 2017 he did well for Dhaka Dynamites, but injury ruled him out of the tournament while he was out of the national team often he hogged the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
