BCB to consult multiple physicians regarding Tamim

The Bangladesh Cricket Board will seek opinion from physicians of multiple countries in order to take a decision on injured Tamim Iqbal’s next course of action, said BCB officials on Thursday.
Tamim returned home from Dubai on Tuesday after being ruled out from the ongoing Asia Cup with a broken wrist but not before battling it out in the end of Bangladesh's innings by making a "surprise appearance".
Tamim, upon his return, hinted that he might miss the home-series against Zimbabwe as there is a possibility of him going under the knife if it is found out that his healing process is not going as per expectation.
The left-handed opener met BCB senior physician Debashish Chowdhury at the board's head-quarter on Thursday to provide him with first-hand knowledge about his present condition.
“We will do his [Tamim's] first x-ray on September 25 and later we will send the outcome of the x-ray to physicians of England, Australia and Dubai,” Debashish Chowdhury told Cricfrenzy.
“We will do the next x-ray a week later and follow the same process so that all those physicians know about his development and let us know what they feel should be the procedure that need to maintained for his recovery,” he said.
“Later we will take a decision based upon their judgment,” he added.
The left-hander received a blow to his wrist in the second over of Bangladesh's batting innings against Sri Lanka, as he was hit by a short ball from Suranga Lakmal.
He left the field for hospital for a scan, and when he returned to the ground with a sling on his injured hand, his Asia Cup was thought to be over.
But the opener stunned all by striding out to bat after Bangladesh lost their ninth wicket for 229 runs.
He made a hole in his glove in order to fit his taped wrist, and used one hand in facing a single delivery to give the strike back to Mushfiqur Rahim, who later added 32 valuable runs to give them a respectable total on the board.
