Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal and pacer Rubel Hossain prepared themselves in the Mirpur Indoor Stadium for the Asia Cup as they failed to join the UAE-going squad on Sunday (September 9) due to visa-related issues.
The duo had to stay back as they were unable to obtain the visa that would have allowed them to take board the same flight as their other teammates.
BCB officials said that Rubel Hossain has obtained the visa and is expected to leave the country tonight. But Tamim is yet to get his visa.

Team manager Khaled Mahmud and chief selector Minhajul Abedin are also waiting for their respective visas. All of them are expected to join the squad as soon as they obtain the visa.
Tamim, who injured his hand while fielding during the preparation-camp, had an extensive batting session in the nets to make sure everything is in place as far as his preparation is concerned.
“I am hoping that I will be able to play from the first match,” said Tamim. “I am more concerned about my practice as it's been a while since I batted [in a competitive match].”
“As I don't know about the exact condition of my injured finger, I really needed to practice in the nets and it looks to have gone quite well,” he added.
Bangladesh, placed in group B, will start their tournament by facing Sri Lanka on September 15 in Dubai. They will take on Afghanistan in their second group match on September 20 in Abu Dhabi.
