Wicketkeeper-batsman Anamul Haque Bijoy said he is disappointed after failing to make his mark on his return to the ODI setup of the Tigers. He is now eyeing to mount a comeback in the national side by performing consistently in the domestic circuit.
Anamul, known to be one of the most-liked cricketers of skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza, had been given a number of chances in the national setup following his return to the team after three years, during the tri-nation at home comprising Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
The right-handed batsman was drafted into the ODI squad despite being in a poor form with the bat, as Mashrafe insisted to have in the team during the tour of West Indies. But unfortunately he failed to make a cut in the Caribbean.
Anamul understands that he has

He said: “I worked so hard, face 4 to 5 thousand balls before going in a tour only to do something good for myself and so from the expectation point of view surely I would say I am disappointed.
“Look, I’m a young man, I’m not 30 or 35. So, I have to think about making a comeback.
“Over the last three-four years, I have scored 3000 runs [in the domestic circuit] and that is the reason why they called me back [this year].
“I need to be prepared because no one knows when some opportunity will arrive. Suppose If somebody gets an injury or gets out of form, then I need to be ready to perform.”
It would be a great opportunity for Bijoy to stay in the team if he managed to perform well in his last appearance against West Indies. Bijoy certainly understands this and is now determined to once again put up a good show in the domestic circuit in order to pave his way back to the national team.
“I played last ODI matches for Bangladesh, if I would have scored some runs, like a fifty or two, then I would have stayed in the team.
“Now that I am out of the national team, I have to score runs in the domestic league so that whenever I get my next chance I can seize it with both hands,” said the 25-year-old.
