Bangladesh paceer Mustafizur Rahman's form will be key for Tigers in the upcoming Asia Cup, said bowling coach Courtney Walsh on Saturday.
Mustafizur, who is suffering from a viral fever, had a journey filled with injuries that forced him to join the Tigers' squad after Test series against West Indies as he was recovering from a toe injury that he had sustained during the IPL.
The left-arm pace bowler is currently having a viral fever but according to Walsh, he is expected to be fit before the tournament that will begin with the Tigers taking on Sri Lanka in the opening game of the six-nation tournament.

Walsh said: “He [Mustafizur] is coming on very good but certainly he is not where he’d like to be. He did well in the West Indies when he joined us. If those injuries stay behind him, he will only get better.
“He has very special skills. We need to have him around to give us a chance to do well. I think Mustafiz will always give you the edge. We are hoping he can reach his peak during the Asia Cup.”
Walsh does not believe that Mustafizur's workload needs to be managed, which is seen as a possible way for keeping him fitter.
“I don’t think his workload needs to be managed. He is bowling pretty well. I would like to do more skill work with him. I haven’t had a chance due to his injuries but I am hoping during the Asia Cup, we can do some work,” he said.
“He knows what’s required and once he is fit, we are all happy. We have to get him to match fitness before the start of the Asia Cup. He had the flu virus. If he is happy and comfortable with the workload, I’d be happy with that,” he added.
Recently BCB decided not to allow Mustafiz to participate in any franchise-based T20 tournaments abroad for two years.
