Bangladesh pacer Rubel Hossain has been disturbed by the speculations about him being sent back to the country after his poor outings in the recent times. His performance was also unimpressive in the first Test against West Indies, where the Tigers were defeated by an innings and 219 runs.

Rubel has endured a topsy-turvy 2018 bowling expensive overs in crucial times. He gave away 22 runs in the penultimate over in the final match of the Nidahas Trophy when Bangladesh needed to defend 34 off 12 deliveries. The right-arm paceman also leaked a lot of runs in the T20I series against Afghanistan last month where the Shakib Al Hasan-led men were whitewashed 3-0.

The whisper in the air was the 28-year-old seamer didn’t respond well to the qualms of the board when it expressed its discontent with his performance. However, Rubel has denied such claims and labeled them as “false and baseless”.

“In recent times, I have noticed that some online portals have been spreading rumors. Such incidents are completely false and baseless. I am very disappointed and shocked about this,” Rubel told Cricfrenzy.

The pace spearhead is determined to get his old self back. After the disappointing first Test against the Caribbean side, he has been working hard and will utilize every opportunity to bring Bangladesh back in the fray.

“I’ve been working hard in the practice sessions. Once I get an opportunity, I’ll try to make the best of it,” he added.
