Tom Curran ruled out of India T20Is and ODIs

England pacer Tom Curran was expected to miss the first T20I against India due to a side strain. However, Tom has now been ruled out of the entire limited-overs series as he failed to recover from the injury.
Dawid Malan had been called into the T20I squad as cover for the injured player, who was supposed to return to the side before the second T20I. Malan will remain as a replacement for Tom Curran in the T2OI squad and Sam Curran has been included in the ODI squad to replace his brother.
Following the ongoing three-T20I series, England will face India in three ODIs as well. Another injured England cricketer, Chris Woakes is likely to return in the later part of the ODI series. Ben Stokes will play for Durham on Thursday in a bid to prove his fitness. If fit, he could also join the England squad before the third and final T20I.
Meanwhile, Surrey and England’s medical team will oversee Tom’s rehabilitation program from Wednesday (July 4).
