Stokes left out of T20 squad, Root earns a recall


Ben Stokes has been left out of England’s T20I squad for the upcoming Vitality T20I series against Australia and India. The 27-year-old is currently recovering from a torn left hamstring. He will remain with the squad while continuing his rehabilitation.
Sam Curran has earned his maiden T20 call-up. Sam and Tom Curran could become the first brothers to represent the England national side together in T20Is.
Jake Ball has been included in the 14-member squad while Joe Root has also earned a recall in the T20I squad.
Mark Wood has been rested ahead of the upcoming T20I challenges. James Vince, Dawid Malan, Sam Billings and Liam Dawson, who were part of the T20 squad during England’s tri-series, have lost their spots in the squad. On the other hand, Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow had been rested during the same series and have now returned to the squad.
England will take on Australia in a one-off T20I game on June 27.They will then play India in a three-T20I series starting from July 3.
