The BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) has announced the squad ahead of Bangladesh’s Test series against West Indies. The players will report to the newly appointed head coach Steve Rhodes at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (June 20).

The Tigers are scheduled to fly out to the Caribbean on June 23. The first Test of the two-match series will start on July 4. Following the Test-series, Bangladesh will play three ODIs and as many T20Is against the West Indian team.

Abu Jayed Rahi and Abu Hider Rony, who have featured in T20Is for the Bangladesh national team, have been included in the Test squad and the list of standbys, respectively.

Yeasin Aarafat and Naeem Hasan are the two uncapped players among the five cricketers on standby. Mustafizur Rahman, who is doubtful for the first Test, has also earned a standby spot alongside Mosaddek Hossain.

Nurul Hasan and Nazmul Hossain Shanto had made their Test appearances last year during Bangladesh's tour of New Zealand and Shafiul Islam played his last Test in South Africa in 2017. All three of them have been recalled to the team while Sabbir Rahman, Abdur Razzak, Sunzamul Islam, and Tanbir Hayder, who were part of the Bangladesh Test squad during the team's last Test series against Sri Lanka earlier this year, haven't been added to the squad.
