Wicketkeeper-batsman named as cover for Tamim and Mushfiq


Mohammad Mithun has been called up in the Bangladesh
national cricket team ahead of their 1st Clash of a 2-match T20 series
against Sri Lanka. The keeper-batsman has been included in the team as cover
for Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim who have been suffering from minor
injuries.
Mohammad Mithun has failed to impress for the national side
in the 12 T20Is he has played so far. The right-handed batsman has clubbed a
total of 85 runs in those matches.
The 1st T20I match is scheduled to take place at
Mirpur on February 15. The last match of the series will be held in Sylhet on
February 18.

Bangladesh lost the Test series 1-0 against the same
opponents and will look to mount a comeback against the island nation who defeated
the Tigers in the tri-nation series final as well.
Earlier, uncapped player Nazmul Hossain Apu was named in the
squad as Shakib Al Hasan will miss the games owing to a finger injury.
