Pakistan Super League, which is scheduled to commence on 22 February in UAE, will move to Pakistan for two playoffs and the final match. The final will take place in Karachi on March 25.

A group of foreign experts has inspected the security arrangements in Karachi on Sunday. As the teams are allowed to field a maximum of four overseas players, Karachi will get to witness foreign cricketers play after nine long years. The final match might also lead to the resurrection of international cricket in the country.

Pakistan was exiled from hosting international cricket after a militant attack on Sri Lanka team in Lahore. The violent occurrence resulted in eight deaths and seven visiting players also got injured. A week before the attack a Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was held in Karachi after which the venue has not seen further international games.

Pakistan made several attempts to once again become a regular host for international cricket. The final of PSL last year was held in Lahore, which was followed by a three-T20 series against the World XI and one T20I against Sri Lanka. Although several players stayed back and did not attend these matches due to security concerns, Pakistan made remarkable security arrangements with 20,000 military and police officials guarding the visiting players and the venue.

Security experts Reg Dickason and Richard Dennis observed a full dress rehearsal for the final in Karachi. They also got briefings on the arrangements from Pakistani security and government. Apparently, the fate of the final venue depends on their report.
