'We have lost two extra wickets' - Razzak

His comeback has taken the fans to a world of delight. And
he, too, is ecstatic about making a comeback like he did today in Dhaka.
‘It is always a great feeling for any player to come back to
the national team; it is something that can’t be expressed in words. It feels
good.’
On the first day of the Test, a total of 14 wickets were
lost. There was something for the bowlers on the pitch, but Razzak doesn’t believe
that it is unplayable for the batsmen.
‘I didn’t think that the wicket was unplayable. It was
rather sporting. We have seen many wickets having turn like this.’

The slow left-arm spinner expressed his gratitude towards
the board for selecting him at a time when there is no dearth of talent in the
country.
‘Obviously, I feel that [my comeback will be a point of
reference]. I thank the board for selecting me in this situation [with
Bangladesh having many talented youngsters]. This proves that chances will be
there and it’s never over.
Abdur Razzak was overlooked for the last four years,
but he doesn’t believe that his performances are an answer to anybody for not
selecting him then. He also believes that this Test will have an
outcome.
‘Whenever I have got a chance to play, I tried to do well,
but I don’t get too downbeat when I don’t play well. I try to find the problems
[in my bowling], so it is not about giving an answer to anyone.
‘The situation [of the game now] makes me feel like the Test
could be over before the 5th day. We will definitely have a result [in
this Test].
When asked about the environment of the dressing room and his
feeling before bowling his first ball of the match, he said: ‘Everyone is serious
here, so there isn’t much change [from four years ago].
‘Playing for the national team is the highest honour to me.
For some reason, there is a different feeling [while representing the national
team]. Every player feels pressure, so I also felt a bit of it in the
beginning. But it became normal after a while.’
When asked about Bangladesh’s position in the Test, he said:
‘I think we have lost two extra wickets, but I believe that it can be recovered
easily.’
