'Dhoni is the best in the world'

While many quarters of the Indian fanbase want MS Dhoni to
be out of the team in order for a youngster to replace him. However, according
to BCCI’s chairman of selectors, MSK Prasad, MSD is, as of yet, irreplaceable.
His logic is derived from the fact that no other
wicket-keeper has been as effective with the bat as the former captain has
been. His words clearly take aim at Rishabh Pant, who wasn’t able to replicate
his domestic success on the international arena.
When asked about whether they are looking at Dhoni on a
series basis, Prasad said: "We are grooming some wicketkeepers during
India A tours. But more or less, we have fixed up (our) minds till the World
Cup (on continuing with Dhoni) and after that at later stages we will start
grooming some of those (wicket- keepers)."
Prasad continued praising the man from Ranchi for astute
skills behind the stumps. Indeed, it is his nimbleness that makes him such an
asset behind the sticks.

"I think MS Dhoni still remains the No 1 wicket-keeper
in the world and day in and day out we have been saying this. In the current
T20 series (against Sri Lanka), the stumpings he has effected and caught-behind
he has taken are phenomenal," Prasad enthused.
The chairman then put the final nail in the coffin on the
young wicketkeepers that have been knocking the door to the first-team of India
by stating Dhoni is the best wicketkeeper in the world.
"There is no comparison and I don't see any wicketkeeper,
who can even come closer to him in world.
"Let me tell you frankly, those boys still are not up
to the level as what we would have expected. We will still be giving them
chances on India A tours and see that they are nurtured," Prasad, who
himself was a wicketkeeper, concluded.
Right now, it seems very difficult to see the likes of
Rishabh Pant making it to the World Cup in 2019, but who knows what could
happen in this game.
