Bangladeshi batsmen finally put up a noteworthy effort as they reached 411-6 in 96.1 overs against New Zealand XI at stumps of the first day of the two-day practice match on the back of four fifties in LincoIn on Saturday.
Tigers needed to get some runs under their belt in the practice game ahead of the three-match Test series after their disappointing performance in the ODI’s where host cleanly swept them away on the back of continued batting failure.

Shadman Islam (67), Liton Das (62), Mahmudullah (59) and Mehedi Hasan (51) all scored fifties while Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar made 45 and 41 respectively as they frustrated opposition bowlers throughout the day after opting to bat first.
The Tigers got off to flying start with Tamim and Shadman put up a 113-run opening stand before Bangladesh lost quite a few wickets as both the openers and Mominul Haque (20) departed in a quick time.
However, Liton, Soumya, Mehedi and Mahmudullah – all played handy knocks before all of them retired to give others some batting practice.
Nayeem Hasan (12) was the last batsman dismissed and stumps on the first day were drawn immediately Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Lincoln.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Mithun did not take part in the practice match for Bangladesh. Left-arm spinner Blake Coburn took two wickets for New Zealand XI.
