Former Australian superstar Michael Hussey believes that the Indian cricket team can win their Test series in Australia for the first time in their history. After losing Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft to suspensions, the Baggie Greens have become a much weakened.
As a result, the legendary former middle-order batsman is of the opinion that the Australian team’s batting has been depleted with the absence of important figures but hopes that Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh fill in the void.
“I am a little worried about Australia’s batting because we are missing two of our best batsmen in Smith and Warner. But this gives guys like Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh the chance to step up and become heroes,” Hussey said.

Hussey added that while India have a good chance to win the series, Australia’s bowling will be back at their best as Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins are expected to be fit.
“It is a wonderful chance for India to win its first ever Test series in Australia,” he added. “But then, if all the Australian bowlers — Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Nathon Lyon — are fit and firing, India will have to work hard for runs. Australia have an excellent bowling attack.”
Finally, he spoke about banned trio mentioned earlier, claiming that there is no way that Cricket Australia will bend the rules to bring them back.
“CA have already said that they will not bring them back them early. There was pressure to get Warner and Smith back for the Big Bash League, but CA said no. So we definitely won’t see Warner, Smith and Bancroft for the India tour,” he said.
