Malinga to mentor Mustafizur Rahman


Sri Lanka quick Lasith Malinga has been appointed as the bowling mentor for Mumbai Indians. So, he will be mentoring the likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Jason Behrendorff, and Ben Cutting.
Malinga will join the support staff headed by another Sri Lankan Mahela Jayawardene. He will be working for the Mumbai based franchise alongside bowling coach Shane Bond, batting coach Robin Singh, and fielding coach James Pamment.
The 34-year-old pacer said, "It's a great opportunity to be present with, and an honor to continue my association with Mumbai Indians.

"Mumbai has been my home away from home for the last decade. As a player, I have enjoyed the journey with Mumbai Indians and now as a mentor, I look forward to the new chapter."
Malinga retired from Test cricket in 2011. He has been an injury-prone player in the last few years. The former ODI & T20I skipper of Sri Lanka has represented the island nation in 30 Tests, 204 ODIs, and 68 T20I matches. He has 492 international wickets to his name. The fast-bowler had last featured in the national side in limited-over games in their home series against India in 2017.
Lasith Malinga has scalped 158 wickets in 110 matches for Mumbai Indians. He played for the team since 2008. He was unsold in this year’s IPL auction in January. “Slinga” Malinga has also played in other T20 domestic leagues around the world.
