Rishad didn’t feature in Lahore’s opening match but made an immediate impact in his second game, picking up 3 wickets for 31 runs and playing a crucial role in his team’s victory. He followed that up with another 3-wicket haul for just 26 runs in the next match, helping Lahore secure yet another win.

So far, Rishad has claimed six wickets in just two matches, which at one point placed him at the top of the tournament’s wicket-taking chart. He currently sits fourth in the standings, highlighting his consistency and impact with the ball.
Speaking to Cricfrenzy, Qalandars owner Sameen Rana was full of praise for Rishad, not just for his performance but also for his attitude and character.
“Wherever we play, we want him in the team. Whether it’s in the Global Super League (GSL) or any other competition, we hope he remains available next season. If he is, he’ll get a new contract immediately. We are keen to pick him again for the next PSL, though of course, there will be a draft,” Rana stated.

The Qalandars owner also hinted that Rishad ranks high on their retention list. “I still don’t know how many players we’ll be allowed to retain. But he is definitely in my top three. If the opportunity is there and he’s available, he’ll be with us next season. He is truly a Qalandar at heart.”

Beyond the field, Rishad has impressed the franchise management with his professionalism and personality. Rana emphasized that character often weighs more than performance in their evaluations.
“It’s not just about how someone performs, because there will be ups and downs. Rishad is special not just because of what he’s doing on the pitch, but because of the person he is. We value character more than performance,” he said.
Rana added that Rishad’s future with other leagues could also be bright, especially with their franchises involved in other competitions like the Caribbean’s Guyana Super League and possibly the upcoming league in Canada.
“Performance comes and goes, but personality stays. If a player fits into the family culture we create, performance will follow. Even if Rishad has a bad day tomorrow, it doesn’t mean he isn’t a great player. We don’t judge like that—we truly support our players,” he concluded.
Rishad’s PSL journey marks a major step forward in his career and could open more doors for Bangladeshi cricketers in global franchise leagues.
