Somerset’s Tom Abell was the top scorer for Sunrisers with 30 runs, but the defending champions struggled against Cape Town’s disciplined bowling attack. Trent Boult provided solid support to Rabada, picking up 2-9.
Earlier, MI Cape Town set a competitive total of 181-8 in their 20 overs. Connor Esterhuizen led the batting effort with 39 off 26 balls, while Dewald Brevis added a quickfire 38 off 18.

Sunrisers’ bowling attack saw former England pacer Richard Gleeson take 2-22, while Liam Dawson chipped in with 2-40.
