Zakir Hasan scores unbeaten 75 against KT, Cricfrenzy
In the first match of the day at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet batted first and posted a challenging total of 182/5. Opener Rony anchored the innings with a solid 56 off 44 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes.
However, Sylhet’s other opener, Rahkeem Cornwall, managed only 4 runs, while George Munsey contributed just 2. Zakir Hasan, coming in at number four, stabilized the innings with a stunning knock of 75 runs off 46 balls, including six sixes and three fours.
In the final overs, Aaron Jones added a quickfire 20 off 6 balls, while captain Ariful Haque chipped in with an unbeaten 21 off 13 balls, helping Sylhet reach a competitive total.
In response, Khulna Tigers, who had won two of their previous three matches, fell short at 174/9. Opener Williams Bosisto top-scored with 43 off 40 balls, but his efforts were not enough.
Fellow opener Mohammad Naim (11), Imrul Kayes (2), and Darwish Rasooli (15) failed to make significant contributions. Mehidy Hasan Miraz added 15 runs, but Khulna’s chase lacked momentum.
Sylhet’s bowlers held their nerve, with Tanzim Hasan Sakib leading the charge, dismissing Mohammad Nawaz and celebrating in style. The win gives Sylhet a much-needed boost as they look to climb up the BPL points table.
