Recently Dream11 has won the bid for the sponsorship rights of Indian Premier League for this season but it will depend on how they do this year if they want to hold on to that right for the next two editions. The board will decide about this matter later.
Dream11 came in place after Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Vivo and the BCCI has parted ways for this season because of the Sino-India border incident.
"It was always clear that the highest bidder may not get the title rights (it was specified by the BCCI before accepting the Expression of Interest from bidders)," a veteran BCCI official, said to PTI on conditions of anonymity.

"Having said that, Dream11 has bid the highest and are still favourites to get it, a few issues are still being ironed out before an official announcement comes," he added.
However, it is learnt that BCCI is in discussions with Dream11 about this as well.
"If it's for only year 2020, then Rs 222 crore works fine. But it was a conditional bid for three years. We still have our deal with Vivo on," he shared.
"We haven't closed it as it's a pause. If we are getting Rs 440 crore, why will we settle for Rs 240 crore?" the official asked.
The 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place in the UAE from September 19 which was earlier decided to take place in March. However, owing to the global pandemic novel COVID-19 the league didn’t take place and now the 53-day tournament will be played with the final being played on November 10.
