Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli remains to be the only player in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) to play for just one franchise.

RCB have been retaining him right since the inception of the league and other teams haven’t had an opportunity to bid for him. In fact, Kohli has never entered the IPL auction.

The highest run-scorer in the history of the league, Kohli is likely to stay with RCB throughout his career. Kohli’s presence is enough for the franchise to attract fans. The RCB skipper is also the face of Indian cricket and the highest earner in world cricket right now.

Of course, every IPL team would want a player like Kohli in their squad but that isn’t the case with Rajasthan Royals. Recently, a user posted Kohli’s photo in RR’s jersey and asked RR if they would welcome him to their family? The franchise won hearts with its reply and asked for Mr Nags along with the RCB skipper.

Mr Nags is a member of RCB’s backroom staff and has often been spotted joking around with the players. He is hugely popular and has a separate fan base. Check out Rajasthan Royals' reply -

The one-time champion side has kicked off preparations for IPL but there is no word about when RR players will leave for UAE. There are high chances of them being without their captain Steve Smith at least for the first few matches as the Australian players are likely to land in UAE just a couple of days before the start of the league.

It will be interesting to see how RR will manage in Smith's absence as they traded Ajinkya Rahane, their former captain, to Delhi Capitals for IPL 2020.

Kohli-led RCB have also kicked off their preparations for IPL 2020 and are expected to leave for UAE in the fourth week of the month. RCB are likely to miss the services of AB de Villiers, Chris Morris and a few other players at least for the first few matches.
