MS Dhoni Starts Preparation for IPL in Ranchi

As former India captain, MS Dhoni's return to competitive cricket was delayed due to the global postponement novel coronavirus which brought the entire world into a standstill and postponed the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), fans can now relax a bit as he has started his practice for the 2020 IPL in Ranchi.
However, MS Dhoni was out of action for the past one year who last featured in the blue in the 2019 semi-final against New Zealand where India lost. Fans who were eagerly waiting to see their favourite star in action, they can breathe easy now as he soon be featured in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings.
According to a report in the New Indian Express, MS Dhoni has hit the nets in Ranchi, for the preparation of the IPL which is scheduled to start from September 19.
“He visited the JSCA International Stadium Complex last week. He practised at the indoor facility using bowling machine,” a Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) office-bearer confirmed the news on the condition of anonymity.
“He did batting practice for two days over the weekend, but has not returned since.” Given the hype that surrounds his every move and secrecy he maintains, it’s not a surprise that no one knows Dhoni’s schedule. “I honestly don’t know what are his plans or whether he will come back for training. We only know he has visited the facility for practice,” said the official.
The report also suggested that Dhoni might have a few more practice sessions at the JSCA complex to become the match ready. On the other hand, the team will come together in Chennai before leaving for the UAE which will be soon, as confirmed by team CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan as they are eyeing to have at least three weeks of practice prior to the mega event.
