BCCI Likely to Shift IPL Final from November 8 to 10

With the postponement of ICC T20 World Cup 2020, 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to take place in that window in the UAE. While the cash-rich league will start from September 19, the final is scheduled to take place on November 8.
However, according to the report of the Times of India, the final of the tournament might be shifted forward by two days. If that happens, the final will take place on a weekday which is going to be the very first time in the tournament history
However, IPL chairman Brijesh Patel had confirmed the dates of IPL 2020. But the pushing back of the date of final might pose trouble as the Indian team will tour to Australia for a four-match Test series which will begin on December 3.
But before the Test series, the team India would have to go through the 14-day quarantine period with the strict norms due to Covid-19 pandemic outbreak.
“Even if the players are left without any IPL matches, they will continue to remain in UAE and participate in a camp there,” TOI quoted sources as saying. “As soon as the IPL is over, the remaining players busy playing the final knockout matches of the league will join the rest and the entire team will fly together from there,” say those tracking developments.”
Meanwhile, the governing council of Indian Premier League is all set to meet on Saturday (August 1) before they meet with the stakeholders including franchisees, broadcasters and sponsors in the next few days to finalise other details of the tournament – from the bio-secure bubbles to travel situation including if their families can travel with the players etc.
Notably, the 2020 IPL was earlier scheduled to take place in March but it was postponed owing to the global pandemic novel coronavirus outbreak across the globe.
