While the league is on, how can the predictions be far behind? Former Australia left-arm leg-spinner Brad Hogg has revealed who are the favourites this year.

He chose the defending champions, Mumbai Indians, as the probable winner of this season as well.

"Well, Mumbai Indians look like they are going to be champions again. They are one of my top two teams going into this year’s IPL in UAE this year,” Hogg said on his Youtube page Hogg’s Vlog. "The reason for this is that they have got a good top four, they also have good allrounders and their bowling attack is stable led by two geniuses with the new ball, and in death overs - Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga.”

He further added, "Also, the allrounder Hardik Pandya. He is looking to get back into cricket after a long time off due to injury. He’s also got a baby on the way as well. I just think those things will give him extra energy and he will become man of the tournament in the UAE."

While, Mumbai Indians is the common favourites for everyone as they are the most successful team in the tournament with four title in their kitty, his second favourite team left everyone in a bit of shock, as well as, surprise. He chose Royal Challengers Bangalore as his favourite. The team which is led by India captain Virat Kohli and they have never won the trophy in the past 12 seasons.

"The second team I have got for you is for RCB. Finally, they will have a big chance to take out an IPL. They have always had good stock on paper, but they have never been able to go out and get the job done," he said.

While doing so, he has shared his thought as well. He said that with the inclusion of Aaron Finch at the top, it will be helpful for RCB during the powerplay overs to score some quick runs. This will reduce the pressure from the shoulder of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli in the middle order. Alongside this, they have a strong bowling attack with the likes of Dale Steyn and Kane Richardson who are capable of turning the table as well.
