The MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings is expected to be the first team to travel to United Arab
Emirates for the 13 th edition of Indian Premier League, as per the report in Gulf News. While the
other teams are expected to reach UAE by August 20, Chennai could reach there within the
second week of August to accustomed with the conditions and prepare for the league as well.
Chennai Super Kings were the runners-up last season where Mumbai Indians beat them in a
nail-biting final. However, they have started their preparations early in March this year for the
cash-rich tournament before it was suspended owing to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak
across the globe.

While the imposed lockdown and unwanted break has affected players a lot to their match-
fitness, some players have started training individually in recent times. And one of them is none
other than Suresh Raina – one of the vital cogs of Chennai’s line up. He has started hitting the
nets quite frequently now along with the players like Piyush Chawla, Mohammad Shami,
Rishabh Pant and Umesh Yadav.
Recently, Chennai Super Kings shared a video on their social media account where Raina can be
seen sharing his views on how athletes have to come to terms amid this crunch situation of
COVID-19 and start their practice. He further said that former Indian captain MS Dhoni would
have good time if he trains with them.
With the news of IPL taking place this year, Dhoni’s fans became so excited as they have been
waiting since long to see their favourite player in action. MS Dhoni was last appeared in the
blue last year during the semi-final of ICC Cricket World Cup where New Zealand beat India.
Since then, he didn’t play a single game.
While the entire schedule is yet to come, the date has been finalized for the league which will
kick start from September 19 and the final will take place on November 8. As the international
cricket has resumed in England, it is expected that the game will start soon in other nations as
well.
