National team Test skipper Mominul Haque said that his fascination towards cricket started after watching Sachin Tendulkar batting.
The left-handed top-order batsman Mominul Haque has traveled a long way to be a national team player.
At his young age, he has faced many obstacles regarding his height but his desire to become a cricketer knows no bounds, he didn't get chance in the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan [BKSP], countries national sports institute in his first attempt for his height. For this he cycled for one year long so that he become eligible to get a chance in the next year and his hard work paid off.
During his stay, he saw many seniors coming for practice in BKSP, saw another national team player Shakib Al Hasan, how he comes and practice and do hard work, which influenced him to work hard on his lackings also. But Mominul always has been a good admirer of Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar.
In a Cricfrenzy Facebook live session, Mominul said that how from a young age he got fascinated for cricket by watching the batting greats batting and how he got influenced by a senior players like Shakib about doing practice and hard work.
"Honestly, I've been seeing Shakib Bhai from my young age from BKSP, but I've never seen him as an idol that I will become a player like him. Basically I've started playing cricket watching Sachin Tendulkar," Mominul said.
"My fascination towards cricket starts when I watched Tendulkar batting. I saw Shakib Bhai coming to BKSP for practice but that worked as inspiration, I used to see how he does his practice, how he works, how long he works with sir. But I've never followed him," he added.
