Williamson recalls his maiden ODI century in Bangladesh

New Zealand’s charismatic skipper Kane Willamson said that he did not forget the memory of playing in Bangladesh where he struck his first century in ODI cricket.
Williamson revealed about it in a Facebook live chat session with Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal. The Kiwis captain said that he still remembers the day while he first played in Bangladesh and scored a sparkling century, which was also his first ODI century.
New Zealand had toured Bangladesh in 2010, the tour that was Williamson’s first visit to Bangladesh. The Black Caps played a five-match ODI series where the Tigers showed their dominance, clinching the series with a 4-0 result.
They survived from the blushes of being whitewashed as one match was abandoned due to the shower. Williamson scored his first ODI hundred (108) in the fourth ODI but his side went in vain as it wasn’t able to bring victory for his side as they were beaten by nine runs in that match.
Coming to the facebook live chat session with Tamim, it jogged Williamson’s sweet but bitter memory that didn’t save them from defeat. Recalling that memory, the Kiwis captain said that the day was too hot and he was having a lot of cramps.
He touted Bangladesh as a formidable opponent in their own backyard, and said the support they got from them were immense.
“My first one-day hundred in my first-ever experience in Bangladesh and it was incredibly hot that something I do remember. I remember getting a lot of cramps. So, I remember after that game knowing that you know professional cricketers obviously need to make sure that they eat well and they drink well and stay on top of all those things,” Kane Williamson said.
“But it was a tough tour and you know as you guys as an opponent and particularly in your own conditions are formidable and the support that you get, you know it does make you a real pleasure to play against,” Williamson told in his facebook live chat session.
