After going through some heartbreaking losses over the last 44 years, England finally won a World Cup, sparking a widespread celebration in the land of cricket.

In a dramatic final, already considered as the greatest ODI game finish, the super over also tied before both teams finished on 241. England finally won the World Cup on boundary count.

Whatever means they won it, it was the reward of their four years of hardwork and determination that saw them overcoming the pain of group phase exit from the 2015 World Cup, 2016 World T20 loss and 2017 Champions Trophy semifinal loss.

The cricketing fraternity, however, went on abuzz of their supreme achievement.

Gautam Gambhir (Former Indian opener):

I want to congratulate both New Zealand and England on playing out a nailbiting final," Gambhir lambasted ICC on the way they have determined the World Champion.
