New Zealand Captain Kane Williamson has been named the man of the tournament of World Cup 2019.
In the race of Man of the tournament, he surpassed Rohit Sharma, Shakib Al Hasan and Mitchel Starc. Williamson has scored 578 runs off 10 matches in this World Cup at an average of 82.57 runs with two centuries and two half-centuries. He is fourth at the chart of the highest run-getter in this World Cup.

Not the runs, however, his impact was counted to make the tournament best. He single-handedly carried his side to the final, contribution almost 35 percent runs of his team total. And his captaincy was standout in every game, even in losing cause.
Williamson was the Mr. Dependable of the New Zealand batting line up. He came to rescue New Zealand with the bat, whenever they were in trouble. He led the team from the front.
Williamson also contributed to the final. He scored 30 important runs when New Zealand were struggling at 29-1. He constructed a partnership of 74 with Henry Nicholls and helped the Kiwis to get out of the hole.
After winning the title, Williamson thanked all of his New Zealand teammates.
“I want to thank the New Zealand team. For keeping us in the tournament and bringing us so far into the tournament. For tying the final. Players are upset at this moment. Of course, it’s disappointing. They played superb throughout the tournament,” Williamson said at the prize-giving ceremony.
New Zealand lost to England in the final on boundary count. England hit 24 boundaries in their innings and New Zealand hit 16. The match was tied twice in 50 overs (241 runs) and also in the Super Over(16 runs).
