West Indies batsman Shemron Hetmeyer expressed his heartbreak after the New Zealand match saying he almost cried at the end of the match. West Indies just needed six runs from seven balls, then Carlos Brathwaite tried to finish the game with a six over the long on but unfortunately for the Windies, Trent Boult caught a spectacular catch on the boundary and ended the semifinal dream of the West Indies.
After losing a close encounter like this emotion were high in the West Indies dressing room.
“ I thought I was getting there, I almost cried actually. It was kind of heartbreaking feeling for me. After Carlos’s [ Carlos Brathwaite ] amazing knock and then Chris [ chris Gayle ] chipped in and the other guys also did their job. And even Cottrell [ Sheldon Cottrell] with the ball. After losing a game like this emotions run very very high. Now, its all about keeping our heads up” said Hetmeyer.

Carlos Brathwaite was amazing against New Zealand. He almost won the game single handedly for the West Indies. He scored 101 runs in just 82 balls. Hetmeyer was also great too, he scored 54 runs in 45 balls. But Hetmeyer said it would have been great if he finished the game off for the team.
“ I just tried to play my game to be honest. By doing so, tried to contribute as much as I can. I would have liked to come to the end today and finish the game off for the team but that didn’t happen” added Hetmeyer.
