England’s right arm fast bowler Mark Wood is looking forward to emulating his past success against West Indies as he is keen to take them on in the World Cup.

“It is great coming up against the West Indies again because it is a team I’ve had success against. It’s like a goal scorer who is up against a team he’s been scoring goals against in the past. He looks forward to that match. And I’m doing the same against the West Indies because I’ve had a bit of success.” Wood said.

Wood wants to trouble the West Indies batsmen with his bouncers as he did it with several of the West Indies batsmen this Spring in the Caribbean Island.

He is looking to do the same again on Friday when the two sides would face off each other.

“I hope they are worried about facing me and that I can get amongst them again,” he said.

“I can remember getting [Darren] Bravo and [Shimron] Hetmyer out to short balls so it is a good thing we can fight fire with fire,” Wood added.

English quicks have been a headache for all the batsmen in this World Cup. They have troubled everyone with short and quick bouncers. Jofra Archer has been the most formidable bowler for England. He has picked up 6 wickets in three matches.

West Indies also have some quick bowlers at their disposal. Oshane Thomas, Andre Russell, and Sheldon Cottrell have also been phenomenal in this World Cup, promising a mouthwatering clash.
