Proteas are in a big hole in this World Cup, having lost all of their three previous matches against England, Bangladesh, and India. South Africa’s pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada thinks complacency is the reason behind their downfall against Bangladesh.

“Bangladesh, we felt that we might have been a bit complacent.” He said.

But Rabada thinks except Bangladesh, South Africa have faced two of the best sides in the World Cup and they have still the chance to move into the semifinal.

“I hope so [that the India performance was a turning point], We are very hopeful. I think we've played two of the best teams in the world.” He added.

He ensures that South Africa will fight till the end for a spot in the semis and it's in their genes that the Proteas never give up.

“India, we took it right to the death, but I think that's just in our DNA as South Africans. The way we play our cricket, you know, we are always there. If you look at how we play our cricket, we never give up.”

Rabada is the last man standing in the pace bowling department for the Proteas, as his fellow colleagues Dale Steyn and Lungi Ngidi are suffering from injury. Dale Steyn was forced to withdraw from the tournament with a shoulder problem and Lungi Ngidi pulled up with a hamstring issue against Bangladesh.

The match against West Indies is a must-win match for South Africa, if they lose in this match they might have to win all of their remaining matches to qualify for the Semi-final and it might not also be enough.
