Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes said on Friday that left-arm pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman will play the second Test against New Zealand at Wellington.
One of the major talking points on the day was Mustafizur absence from the playing eleven against New Zealand in the three-match series opener as their pace bowling unit showed inexperience due to the fact that Abu Jayed and Khaled Ahmed had a total of four Tests between them coming into this match and Ebadat Hossain was on debut.

"It is a real struggle for him to bowl in back-to-back Test matches," Rhodes told reporters after the match. "To get the best out of him mentally and keeping him fresh, is to spell the Tests that he plays. I think you can gather from that that he will come back into the fold in the next Test,” he said.
"One of the reasons we wanted him to play in Wellington is because there's going to be a blowing gale there. He is our best bowler into the wind. There's a lot of work for the Fizz in Wellington, which is why we wanted him to be fresh. Everything is horses for courses,” the coach added.
When it was pointed out to Rhodes that fast bowling coach Courtney Walsh used to play a lot of Tests and bowl a lot, he found the comparison to be unfair.
“There is a type of bowlers who needed to bowl a lot to gain his rhythm and his pace and accuracy while you will get certain bowlers who you need to keep fresh and Mustafizur is one of them,” Rhodes concluded.
