Rajput hopes to break Zimbabwe's losing streak

Zimbabwe have kept adding to their list of defeats, picking up no wins since Lalchand Rajput joined the team as head-coach following their failure to qualify for the ICC World Cup.
The Chevrons failed to register any win in the tri-nation T20I series involving Pakistan and Australia, in their own backyard. They also lost to Pakistan in a bilateral ODI series at home before suffering whitewashes in both ODI and T20I away-series against South Africa.

Zimbabwe have played a total of 15 matches under Rajput, losing all of them. Their coach, who enjoyed much success with Afghanistan and helped them earn the Test status, is hopeful that they will soon break the 17-match losing-streak in limited-overs cricket.
“It is a long list but in the first eight games we didn’t have our players. Now the senior players have returned and we are getting closer but not crossing the line. South Africa were 100 for 7 in one game but we couldn’t win. Even in the T20Is. We are getting it together but the day will come soon that we will cross the line,” said Rajput.
Zimbabwe defeated Sri Lanka in the tri-series in Bangladesh earlier this year and with the seniors back in the team they can look to repeat the positive approach on the same soil when they meet the Tigers in the second ODI on Wednesday (October 24).
