Bangladesh score 173 amid early fears:

The Super 4s started well for the Indian team as the bowlers demonstrated their mettle and caliber by stifling Bangladesh’s batting lineup for runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah delivered the early breakthroughs, but Bangladesh’s batsmen were culpable for poor shot selection too.

Surprisingly, experienced campaigners like Shakib al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim departed quite early, primarily because of their own arguably unnecessary shots. Ravindra Jadeja who made the comeback to the ODI side after a year was disciplined with his bowling too.

He scalped four wickets in ten overs and was crucial to blocking the flow of runs in the middle overs. Spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav used their guile quite well and extracted good benefits of the dry pitch on offer.

Mehidy Hasan top-scored for Mashrafe Mortaza’s men with 42 runs and there were vital contributions from Mortaza and Mahmadullah too. Kumar and Bumrah notched three wickets each and hence the Indian bowlers collectively impressed in this match too.

Due to late contributions from Mortaza and Mehidy Hasan, Bangladesh managed to score a decent total in the end. Their bowlers and especially Shakib al Hasan will have integral roles to play, if they were to defend this score against the Indian batting lineup.
