After losing three quick wickets, Bangladesh sunk further as Ravindra Jadeja took control over the proceedings. The left-armed spinner was disciplined throughout and maintained excellent accuracy as he stifled the Bangladeshi batsmen for runs.

Jadeja exploited the dry surface as he was consistent with the line and length, suffocating the opposition for runs and thus eventually forcing them into making mistakes. Mushfiqur Rahim was ooking to stabilize the innings but even he somewhat lost patience and played a shot that was directly caught by Yuzvendra Chahal.

Before that, Mohammed Mithun departed as Jadeja scalped him LBW. Kuldeep Yadav and Chahl supported Jadeja too, as the variety in India’s spin department helped them dominate Bangladesh’s middle order. Unfortunately, both Rahim and Hasan were victims of their own poor shot selection.

The need of the situation was to slower down the proceedings and instills some confidence and composure in the innings. However, the inability of the experienced batsmen to proceed further have somewhat inducted panic in their innings.

India would look to maintain this pressure and their spinners would help them do so too. Jadeja’s return to the ODI circuit has been commendable, undoubtedly.
