Bangladesh and Afghanistan face-off against each other in the last Group B clash of the Asia Cup, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Bangladesh have handed ODI debuts to Nazmul Hossain and Abu Hider while Mominul Haque has returned to the ODI squad after more than three years.
Winning the toss, Afghanistan decided to bat first. Hider didn’t need more than four deliveries to get his first ODI wicket as he dismissed Ihsanullah Janat in the second over to give Bangladesh a flying start. Following the wicket-maiden over, he struck again a short while later to dismiss Rahmat Shah.
However, Mohammad Shehzad and Hasmatullah Shahidi kept the score ticking and put up a fine 51-run partnership before the former got dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan. The next batsman, Asghar Afghan, also couldn't stand firm against the ace all-rounder and returned to the pavilion after adding eight runs to the total.

Hasmatullah Shahidi is still at the crease continuing with a steady 35-run innings. Samiullah Shinwari will now look to provide enough support to him in order to take Afganistan to a safer positon.
