India dealt a massive blow ahead of their first Super Four clash against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup, as three of their cricketers have been ruled out of the tournament due to injuries.
It started with Hardik Pandya getting injured and subsequently being taken off the field during the group-match against Pakistan yesterday (September 19). Coming on as a substitute fielder, Axar Patel, too, injured his left index finger. Both the cricketers have been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament along with Shardul Thakur, who experienced right hip and groin soreness following the game against Hong Kong.

Deepak Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja, and Siddharth Kaul have been added to the squad to replace the injured players and will join the team on Thursday (September 20).
Among the replacements, only Siddharth Kaul has played for India in the recent times when they took on England in a three-ODI series. Jadeja last represented his national side in white-ball cricket back in July 2017 and Chahar is yet to make his ODI debut.
Qualifying for the Super Four as the Group A champions, India will face Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan on 21, 23, and 25 September, respectively. It will surely be a relief to the injury-struck side that, unlike the other teams, they will not have to leave their permanent base in Dubai.
