Bangladesh begin Test preparations ahead of Zimbabwe series

Initially, the team planned to hold a 10-day training camp in Sylhet ahead of the series. However, due to the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL), the camp was pushed back to April 13. The preparation camp officially began yesterday at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

14 Apr 25On the opening day of the camp, 10 cricketers from the Test squad were present, including captain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque, Nahid Rana, Taijul Islam, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahidul Islam Ankon, Zakir Hasan, and Hasan Mahmud.
The remaining five players — Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Zakir Ali Anik, Tanzim Hasan Sakib (Legends of Rupganj), and Sadman Islam, Nayeem Hasan (Agrani Bank Cricket Club) — are expected to join the camp once the second day of DPL's final round concludes.

Among the coaching staff, head coach Phil Simmons, senior coach Mohammad Salahuddin, and pace bowling coach Andre Adams are supervising the camp.

Newly appointed fielding coach James Pamment, who previously worked with Mumbai Indians for seven years, also joined the squad on the first day of training.
Zimbabwe are set to arrive in Bangladesh on April 15 for the series. The first Test will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium starting April 20, while the second Test will begin on April 28 at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
In their last Test encounter on Bangladeshi soil, Zimbabwe suffered an innings defeat.
