Litton-Tanzid records gift Dhaka first BPL 2025 win
Litton Das celebrates his maiden T20 century, Cricfrenzy
The match was marked by stunning centuries from Litton Das and Tanzid Tamim. Litton, responding to recent criticism, delivered a scintillating unbeaten knock of 125 runs off 55 balls, featuring 10 fours and 9 sixes. He reached his century in just 44 balls, showcasing his dominance.
Tanzid Tamim also starred with the bat, scoring 108 runs off 64 balls, including 6 fours and 8 sixes. The duo shared a record-breaking 241-run partnership—the highest in BPL history—surpassing the 201-run stand by Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle for Rangpur Riders in 2017.
The Capitals also shattered the previous highest team total in BPL history, which stood at 239 runs, achieved twice—by Rangpur Riders in 2019 and Comilla Victorians in 2024.
In reply, Durbar Rajshahi’s batting lineup crumbled under pressure. Anamul Haque Bijoy’s side was bowled out for 105 runs in just 15.2 overs. Ryan Burl top-scored with 47 runs, while Yasir Ali contributed 17.
The 149-run defeat is the heaviest loss in BPL history, eclipsing the previous record set in 2013 when Chattogram beat Sylhet by 119 runs.
With this victory, Dhaka Capitals not only ended their winless streak but also made a strong statement in the tournament with their record-breaking performance.
