Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim’s bat has raised a bid of nearly BDT 20 Lakh so, said organizers on Thursday.
The bidding will be closed tonight at 10 pm while the buyer and the amount will be declared tomorrow.
Mushfiq put up his historic bat for auction through which he scored country’s first-ever Test double hundred against Sri Lanka in Galle 2013 with an aim to raise funds for coronavirus affected people on May 9 and was expected to end on May 14.
However, the organizers had to temporarily suspend the auction of that bat due to countless fake bids.
After being closed for some time, the auction of that historic bat has started again with a new pattern that indicates it is open for some time and closes afterward to scrutinize fake bidders.

Mushfiq’s management company, Nibco struck a deal with Pickaboo.com, an e-commerce site, where the bat was placed for auction. Picaboo chief executive Morin Talukder said that they have got some prominent buyers who are very keen to have the ownership of the bat and the will close the bidding tonight at 10 pm and will give the full declaration tomorrow.
"We have some prominent buyer while being into the bidding process. Who are serious buyer. So, we are communicating with them, then again we also had a confirmation from one. Confirmation means if it's some kind of institutional buyer then we are not having advance. But when we are having some individual buyer then we are taking some advance security money, for security concern," said Morin Talukder
"So far we are in a good stage. Tonight at 10 pm we will officially close the bidding and will give the full declaration tomorrow live at one time," he added.
Morin also said that the bat price has been raised near about BDT 20 lakh till now. And the two prominent buyers who raised such amount are one from abroad and one is local.
"We are close to somewhat BDT 20 lakh. We have two prominent buyer who are having this much amount with them. We are talking with both of them. One of them is local another one is from international. After talking with the prominent highest buyer we will declare it officially tomorrow." he added.
After it was closed due to fake bids, the auction house started finding out the fake bids. After the process was over, the auction started again. He also said that the work has been done for a noble cause, though they found many fake bids but they also found many real bids as well. As per him beside the fake bid, the participation was good.
"The work has been done from humanity angle, if you think it differently as it will go to charity. We have found many fake buyers, fake bidding but end of the day there were good numbers of buyers who were actually real buyers," he said.
"For this reason, we are quite hopeful that we can lock on a certain amount like close to BDT 20 lakh. We are very hopeful about it. So we had two mixture, there was fake buyers and also there were regular buyers, plus there was big fan of Mushfiq or Bangladesh cricket team many have participated here," he added.
Apart from Mushfiqur's bat there was bat of Mosaddek Hossain's, Akbar Ali's jersey and batting gloves, Naim Sheikh's bat, cap signed by Mashrafe and the bat signed by all the players of World Cup 2011 got a good number of bidding and they are also in contact with those buyers and also those will be closed at the same time and will be declared at the same due time. The announcement would happen at 9:30 pm where along with Mushfiqur there will be others who are working closely with the auction. The live will be on from Facebook page Sports for Life and Pickaboo at a time.
